Commitment to Equal Access
The Iris Center does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, ethnicity, age, disability, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, religion or creed, military or veteran status, immigration status, socioeconomic status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
This commitment applies to all aspects of care, including access to services, treatment decisions, scheduling, and interactions with staff.
Inclusive and Affirming Care
The Iris Center provides affirming, trauma-informed care and recognizes that individuals may have experienced harm, exclusion, or bias in healthcare settings in the past.
All patients are entitled to be addressed and treated with respect, including the use of affirmed names and pronouns when communicated by the patient. Care is guided by clinical judgment, patient needs, and established standards of practice, not by assumptions or stereotypes.
Accessibility and Accommodations
The Iris Center is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to support access to care for individuals with disabilities or other access needs.
This may include assistance with communication, physical access, or other accommodations when requested and feasible. Patients are encouraged to contact the clinic if accommodations are needed so that arrangements can be made in advance whenever possible.
Language Assistance
The Iris Center will take reasonable steps to provide meaningful access to services for individuals with limited English proficiency when feasible. Patients may request language assistance or bring a support person to help facilitate communication during visits.
Reporting Concerns
Patients who believe they have experienced discrimination or unequal treatment are encouraged to contact the clinic directly. Concerns will be taken seriously and reviewed promptly.
